Report: LeBron ready to commit for Paris 2024, recruiting KD, Curry

Team USA appears poised to bounce back in a huge way after missing the podium at the latest FIBA World Cup.

LeBron James is ready to commit to a fourth Olympics next summer, sources told The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Joe Vardon.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has reportedly spoken to Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum, and Draymond Green about joining him in Paris for the 2024 Games. Those players are apparently all prepared to commit as well.

Devin Booker, Damian Lillard, De’Aaron Fox, and Kyrie Irving are also seriously interested in suiting up for the U.S., Charania and Vardon add.

James and Durant are reportedly viewing the Paris Olympics as a “last dance” with USA Basketball. The pair have apparently spoken with Curry about having a final run on the national team together.

James hasn’t played for the Stars and Stripes since leading the U.S. to gold at the 2012 Olympics alongside the late Kobe Bryant. The 38-year-old was also part of the Americans’ championship team at the Beijing Games and their bronze-medal squad in Athens.

USA Basketball fell to Canada in the bronze-medal game of this year’s FIBA World Cup. It was the first time in program history that the U.S. failed to reach the podium in back-to-back editions of the showpiece tournament.
