Ex-Warriors president Myers joining ESPN

Former Golden State Warriors president Bob Myers is joining ESPN as both a studio and game analyst, the company announced Monday.

The two-time NBA Executive of the Year will feature on the ABC editions of “NBA Countdown” during the regular season and playoffs. He’ll also call games this upcoming campaign.

Myers was the architect of the Warriors’ championship teams, guiding the franchise to four titles during his 11-year stint as general manager. The 48-year-old stepped down from Golden State’s front office in May, turning down lucrative offers to stay with the organization. He was replaced by ex-Warriors wing Mike Dunleavy Jr.

Prior to becoming an NBA executive, Myers was a walk-on at UCLA. He made 76 appearances for the Bruins over four seasons and was on the program’s last national championship squad in 1995.

Myers then served as UCLA basketball’s radio commentator for a pair of campaigns before beginning a lengthy career as a player agent.
