The Select Team will train with the national team from Aug. 3-6 in preparation for the FIBA World Cup, held in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia.
Any player on the U.S. Select Team can travel with Team USA to the World Cup and suit up if anyone from the main roster is injured before the tournament begins.
Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley will be the bench boss for the Select Team, with Purdue head coach Matt Painter and former Chicago Bulls head coach Jim Boylen acting as assistants.
“It’s an honor to be selected to lead the USA Men’s Select Team, and I am truly grateful,” said Mosley. “After serving as an assistant with the select squad in 2021, I’m fully aware of the importance that our team will have in USA Basketball’s success this summer at the World Cup.”
The World Cup begins on Aug. 25.
