Bulls re-sign Dosunmu to 3-year, $21M deal

The Chicago Bulls re-signed guard Ayo Dosunmu to a three-year, $21-million contract, his agent told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Dosunmu was a restricted free agent after receiving a $5.2-million qualifying offer from the Bulls.

The team was $8 million below the luxury tax prior to retaining Dosunmu, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

Chicago selected Dosunmu with the 38th overall pick two years ago. The 23-year-old has averaged 8.7 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.3 boards with his hometown NBA club. He’s started in 91 of his 157 appearances.

Before making the leap to the pros, Dosunmu starred collegiately for the University of Illinois. He was a consensus first-team All-American and the Bob Cousy Award recipient for the nation’s top point guard during the 2020-21 campaign.

The Bulls have kept most of their roster intact, re-signing Nikola Vucevic and Coby White earlier in the offseason. They’ve also added some defensive grit in Jevon Carter and Torrey Craig.
